About Us > Our Team
At the Carbon Reduction Fund, our team consists of passionate individuals in the environmental and business fields. We have
come together with a common goal: to deliver real and significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions through a market-based
approach.
Carbon Reduction Fund Staff
Yvan Champagne, Managing Director
Yvan advises leading companies across Canada on sustainable environmental strategies and programs, and is a regular conference
speaker on opportunities in emerging carbon markets. He has a comprehensive business background that includes government relations
consulting in the energy sector, along with public affairs, marketing, technology and business strategy experience with and/or
consulting to Fortune 500 companies.
Yvan obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Yale University with a focus on environmental policy and business-government
relations. As part of his studies, he also completed graduate coursework in the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
Yvan is also a graduate of the Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA Program jointly offered by the Kellogg School of Management
(Northwestern) and the Schulich School of Business (York).
A former board member of two local grassroots environmental groups, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper and North Toronto Green Community,
Yvan also enjoys the outdoors, hockey, triathlons, reading and carpentry in his spare time.
David Anders, Offset Portfolio Manager
David brings a technical background and a passion for sustainable business to managing the Carbon Reduction Fund's portfolio of
offset projects. A desire to find innovative solutions to global problems drew David from a career in applied research in the
technology field to a focus on environmental economics and strategy in the business realm. A questioning mind and multidisciplinary
approach to problem-solving has allowed David to constantly look at the bigger picture in aligning business practices with policy,
stakeholders, economics, and the environment.
David holds a BSc. in Engineering Physics from Queen's University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, where he
specialized in Business and Sustainability.
His role at the Carbon Reduction Fund is to identify emissions reduction projects which meet the high standards of the Fund and
its partners. His goal is to help build a viable economic market to help reduce global emissions, and to help influence change
towards more sustainable practices. David is an avid sailor, and also enjoys photography and rock climbing.
Catherine Wood, Manager, Stakeholder Relations
For over 15 years, Catherine has worked on conservation and sustainability issues for non-governmental and municipal agencies
including UNESCO, the Clean Air Foundation, the Toronto Atmospheric Fund and the Earth Council Institute. Her work has included
participation in numerous committees and conferences, including COP 11 in Montreal.
Catherine earned her Bachelor's degree from McGill University, and her Master's of Environmental Studies degree from York
University. Whether researching and producing communications materials or planning events or workshops, much of her work has
focused on making complex information on environmental issues such as climate change accessible, instructional and relevant to
partners and to the public. Catherine has strong planning and management skills, and her communication abilities and understanding
of multi-stakeholder processes has enabled her to successfully launch and grown many award-winning projects both in Canada and
internationally. Catherine enjoys playing with her two young daughters, traveling, dancing, and swimming.
